Course Description
Explore the countless possibilities of SharePoint Designer 2007. In this fast paced 3 day course, you will gain extensive hands-on experience creating, customising and branding SharePoint applications with SharePoint Designer 2007. You acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to integrate ASP.NET and SharePoint design and layout controls. You also learn how to customise sites to improve accessibility compliance, apply Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) within SharePoint site structure, implement Themes and Master Pages for overall consistency, and leverage content management features in a SharePoint publishing site by using SharePoint Designer 2007 and in browser customisations.
Who Should Attend
This course is intended for those working in a SharePoint environment, like SharePoint Administrators, Web Designers and Developers that use and work with Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 or Office SharePoint Server 2007, and want to learn how to customise SharePoint sites to meet internal corporate identity standards, including colour schemes, layout and overall graphical look and feel.
Pre Requisites
Participants attending this course would need to know about lists, libraries, site columns, content types, Web Parts and how to administer a team site using the browser. If participants do not have this understanding then it is strongly recommended that they attend our SharePoint 2007 - Building Team Solutions course prior to attending this course.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will understand the basic technology behind SharePoint and SharePoint sites and know how to:
- Work in SharePoint Designer 2007 to create and modify SharePoint site content
- Work with HTML pages, Web Part Pages and ASP .NET page
- Create content based on existing master pages
- Create SharePoint lists and display them in Web Parts or as pages
- Display content from an external data source on a SharePoint site
- Work with many types of adapt sources
- Insert HTML controls, ASP .NET controls and SharePoint controls on SharePoint site pages
- Create SharePoint lists and display them in Web Parts or as pages
- Work with Data Views and data sources
- Use different types of controls and work with page layouts
- Work with workflows
