Introduction

goal of this three-day course is to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary
to select, deploy, and manage a Microsoft networking solution for small and medium-sized
businesses.

Pre-Requisites

Before attending this course, students must have a working knowledge of:
  • Sharing folders.
  • Stopping and starting services.
  • Working with the Microsoft Management Console (MMC).
  • Creating and managing user accounts.
  • Assigning permissions.
  • The purpose and some of the implementations of Transmission Control Protocol /
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) services such as Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic
Host Configuration Protocol (DCHP) (although students will not need to know how to
implement these services in a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 environment).
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory service.
  • Working knowledge of Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
In addition, students should have these certifications:
  • A+ and Net+

scenario.
  • Install or upgrade to Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003.
  • Configure Windows Small Business Server 2003 by completing the tasks on the To-Do
List.

  • Manage and monitor Windows Small Business Server 2003.
  • Install or upgrade to Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition.
